ALL-IRELAND football champions Cork have received just nine nominations — and none for Player of the Year — in the short list for the Opel/GPA Team of the Year.

PUNDITS launching scathing attacks on the state of Gaelic football is nothing new but one of the modern game’s top exponents joined the chorus of disapproval yesterday.

Cork footballer Anthony Lynch and Waterford hurling ace John Mullane have today been named as the Opel/GPA Players of the Month for June.
