A HOLIDAY of a lifetime turned to tragedy for 22-year-old Derry student, Aaron Toland, after it was officially confirmed yesterday that he was among the victims of Sunday’s air crash in Thailand which claimed at least 89 lives.

AUTHORITIES yesterday found the two flight data recorders from a plane that crashed and killed 89 people on Thailand’s resort island of Phuket, while an airline official said wind shear may have doomed the flight.

A passenger plane filled with foreign tourists crashed today in heavy rain on Thailand’s tourist island of Phuket, leaving at least 60 dead, officials said.
