FYFFES has reported its strongest profit for four years, but has also lowered its earnings guidance for 2010 due to the impact of the harsh weather in Europe since the turn of the year.

FRUIT importer Fyffes has again raised its full-year earnings target for 2009 after posting good first-half profits.

FYFFES warned yesterday that its 2007 earnings were likely to be lower than expected due to an increase in fuel prices and higher than anticipated losses at its Brazilian joint venture, Nolem.

Fyffes today announced that it has acquired 60% of Nolem, the Brazilian fresh produce export company, from a number of Brazilian shareholders.
