Japanese prosecutors have raided the Tokyo home of former Nissan chairman Carlos Ghosn after he skipped bail before a trial on financial misconduct charges and left for Lebanon.

Nissan said quarterly profit rose nearly 8% but the Japanese carmaker lowered its full-year forecasts because of a sales slump in China and weakness in Europe.

Takashi Ishihara, a former president of Nissan Motor Company who helped turn the Japanese carmaker into a global player, has died of heart failure, his family said in Tokyo.
