The National taxi driver's union have stated that the announcement of a regulator for the industry is long overdue.

Taxi Unions say they are very disappointed with the findings of the Government's taxi-hardship panel, which they are describing as totally inadequate.

Hundreds of taxi drivers are protesting in Dublin today. They are withdrawing services for three hours over the Government's failure to appoint a regulator for the industry within the promised time frame.
