It’s fair to suggest 2017 will be remembered as a year of very strong share price performances in technology companies and significant technology-led disruption to other industries, writes David Holohan

Building materials giant CRH has said it is ready to act further on what it sees as “a strong pipeline” of acquisition opportunities in light of selling part of its US operations for $2.6bn (€2.2bn).

Shares in betting services group Paddy Power-Betfair dropped a further 4% yesterday after it posted first-half earnings which fell short of analyst expectations.

The Government, through its advisors, has already received more than enough orders from investors to proceed with the sale of 25% of its near total shareholding in AIB.
