A MAYO farmer will plant part of his land with willows on Saturday, because he says the bio-energy crop is more profitable and less labour intensive than beef production.

MAYO Power Ltd is to build a €140 million mixed fuel electricity station that will create up to 200 jobs when it is commissioned in 2010.
