Greencore has reported a near 3% year-on-year rise in third quarter group revenues, despite lowering sales in its core UK operations.

Convenience food producer Greencore has reported revenue growth of 44.5% to €1.4bn in the year to the end of September.

Greencore, the Dublin-headquartered group which supplies convenience foods to all of Britain’s main supermarket chains, is very comfortable with its financial goals for the year, helped by sales from events around Queen Elizabeth II’s diamond jubilee, says chief executive Patrick Coveney.

Greencore has acquired US snacks producer HC Schau & Son for around €15.5m, of which€10.4m is being paid in cash.

The $36m (€27.3m) acquisition of Marketfare Foods by Greencore will increase the Irish plc’s US operations by 70%.
