Emergency services in Limerick have shared their frustration at hoax calls to the River Shannon, following a recent search and rescue being stood down as a bogus call.

A man has been taken to hospital after getting out of a taxi on a bridge in Limerick and entering the River Shannon.

The body of a man, who entered the River Shannon in Limerick City two days ago, sparking a major search, was found this evening.
