THE owners of Lissadell House have secured it with barbed wire wrapped around poles and there are boulders blockading access to the Yeats Museum in a separate coach-house.

HAVING wrung its hands at the prospect of spending €30 million refurbishing Lissadell House, the ancestral home of Countess Markiewicz, the Government turned down the chance of buying it for the nation.

The owner of Lissadell House in Co Sligo has revealed that he is on the verge of selling the property.
