APPLE chief executive Steve Jobs can start selling the iPhone in the US in June as planned after agreeing to share the name with Cisco Systems and averting a court case.

Cisco Systems and Apple have agreed to share the "iPhone" name, but both US companies are staying tightlipped about what future products might come from the resulting deal to collaborate on "interoperability" between the companies' products.

Cisco has announced a definitive agreement to acquire the business of The Linksys Group of California.
