IN his letter headlined ‘The Godless delusion, flights of fancy and pointless questions’ (October 22), Oliver Broderick makes a dismissive reference to Hitler and the myth of his Catholicism.

JOSEPH BARRY (Irish Examiner letters, June 1) wrongly concludes that “the strictest secret” in the Vatican document Crimen Sollicitationis refers to “the secrets which a Catholic priest hears from penitents in confession.”

YOUR columnist Rónán Mullen went to bat regularly for Pope John Paul II and on various occasions he has also defended US President George W Bush. But he seems to have an aversion to tackling the really difficult issues.
