The Irish Cancer Society (ICS) has warned that an explosion in the number of new vaping products and attractive flavours could lead to a new generation of smokers, in the absence of advertising restrictions.

The American Medical Association has urged Americans to stop using electronic cigarettes of any sort until scientists have a better handle on the cause of 450 lung illnesses and at least five deaths related to the use of the products.

The US Food and Drug Administration says it is investigating a small number of reports over several years of e-cigarette users experiencing seizures.
