The major extension proposed for the Bon Secours Hospital, in Cork City, has been approved by An Bord Pleanála.

New plans have been lodged for a motorway service area off the M8 motorway near Fermoy in north Cork.

Tired drivers hoping for a much-needed pitstop at motorway service stations in Cork will have to hang on longer as An Bord Pleanála has shot down the first two applications for such facilities.
