A health and safety investigation is underway into the explosion at the Corus steel plant in Port Talbot, south Wales.

Corus has agreed to study union plans aimed at saving 6,000 threatened jobs after a "very productive" meeting with unions.

Union leaders were today finalising a £90m plan aimed at saving 6,000 Corus steel jobs.
