PAKISTAN began evacuating half a million people from flood-risk areas in the south yesterday as the overall number hit by the country’s worst floods in living memory rose to more than four million.

AS many as 100,000 people are thought to have died in the devastating earthquake which shook the capital of Haiti.

THE prospect of cutbacks in foreign aid given to poor countries has not been ruled out by Overseas Development Minister Peter Power.
