An Irish Ferries vessel with more than a thousand people on board has finally docked at Cherbourg.

Union activists have prevented an Irish Ferries vessel from docking in the French port of Cherbourg today as part of a protest over low pay.

European dock workers are to stage five days of industrial action next month in protest at what they see as the casualisation of port work.
