GLOBAL demand for coffee is set to keep climbing, and even a doubling in the cost of the commodity over the last 12 months has failed to quench consumers’ thirst.

LOVERS of Colombian coffee could face a hike in the cost of their daily caffeine fix as poor crops and strong demand turn up the heat on price, it was revealed.

Fears that cups of coffee could become more expensive grew today after bean prices soared to a fresh seven-year high.
