Officials warned today the wildfires that devastated southern Australia this month could flare again when high winds and hot temperatures sweep the region later this week, and raised the death toll from the blazes to 210.

Parts of Sydney and surrounding areas have been declared natural disaster areas after suffering extensive damage in a wind storm.
