Hewlett Packard Enterprise has agreed to buy Nimble Storage in a deal valued at about $1bn (€943m), bolstering a higher-growth segment of the market for data storage.

Hewlett-Packard raised total compensation for chairman and chief executive Meg Whitman by 11% ahead of the company’s expected split into two publicly traded entities by the end of this year.
