One of the largest recruitment firms in the country has warned of skills shortages affecting business growth.

Weakening market conditions in some of its key markets, such as Germany, Australia and the UK, pressed down on profitability towards the end of the year.

Recruitment firm Hays said today it has cut its own workforce to cope with deteriorating demand for permanent staff.
