US streaming service Netflix has secured comic actor Adam Sandler, one of cinema’s biggest box-office draws, as part of its bid to transform the movie business in the same way it has changed television.

In the opening scenes of the new ''comedy'' Jack and Jill, commercial director Jack Sadelstein (Adam Sandler) and his business partners take a break from the set of their Regis Philbin-starring Pepto Bismol commercial to discuss the prospect of landing Al Pacino for a new Dunkin' Donuts spot.

Actor Adam Sandler has been sued by a comic book author who's accused the star of stealing the idea for his 2008 movie 'You don't mess with the Zohan'.
