SHANNON-BASED, US-owned aircraft leasing firm General Electric Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) recorded pre-tax losses last year totalling $24 million (€16.7m).

SHANNON-based aircraft leasing company Genesis Lease has formally announced that it is to merge with like-minded Dutch company AerCap in a $1.75 billion (€1.19bn) deal mere days after confirming the two were in talks.

GENESIS LEASE, the Shannon-based aircraft leasing firm, said net profits rose by more than a third in 2007.
