An ex-businessman who, with others, burned a garda’s private car after she seized a vehicle for having no insurance, has been spared jail despite an appeal by prosecutors.

A judge said that two men behaved outrageously when intimidating a female garda by burning out her private car.

A Co Clare Garda had her private car burnt out in an arson attack at a Garda station hours after she seized a car that was without insurance and tax.
