A drug-dealer facing sentence for transporting €10,000 of cocaine from Dublin had the hearing adjourned, so gardaí could look into the fact that a member of An Garda Síochána provided character evidence for him.

A five-year suspended jail term was imposed yesterday on a Cobh man caught more than two years ago with more than €28,000 worth of cocaine stashed in a suitcase on top of a wardrobe at his home.
