A judge has said that a woman who falsely claimed in an emergency ‘999’ call to gardaí that she had been raped “put on an Oscar-winning performance”.

GARDAÍ recorded more than 1,140 drink driving incidents over Christmas and the New Year, a drop of over 350 cases on the same period last year.
