The eight men who were discovered hiding on a bulk cargo ship in Waterford yesterday have been deported to the last country of origin.

The Government has again been called on to commit to solutions that allow people to safely and legally escape persecution - after another group of migrants was found trying to enter Ireland in a cargo ship.

Gardaí have launched an investigation after a number of migrants were found aboard a boat in Waterford.
