A permanent breast surgeon is to be appointed to a Donegal hospital in a bid to bring better cancer services to the county.

The Health Service Executive has decided to maintain and develop breast care services at Letterkenny General Hospital in conjunction with the regional breast care unit at Galway Regional Hospitals.

UP to 17% of tasks carried out by junior doctors involve “finding stuff and paperwork” and 15% are either non-medical or could be done by a less-skilled hospital worker, a survey has found.
