PARENTS of Gaelscoil pupils have given their backing to the policy of teaching no English for up to two years, despite a directive from Education Minister Mary Hanafin that schools should end the practice from next year.

GAELSCOILS are expected to be told by Education Minister Mary Hanafin to restrict a policy of not teaching any English to infant classes in the next week.

EDUCATION Minister Mary Hanafin is considering using her legal powers to force a Co Kerry gaelscoil to teach infant pupils the level of English set out in the primary curriculum.
