Funds raised for the care of a rugby player left paralysed are being channelled to charitable causes following his death, with a respite centre being opened in his native Cork over the weekend.

TWO of the great names of Irish and English rugby led legends onto the field last night for a major fundraising game for injured players.

A HOST of big names will take part in the first ever Stuart Mangan Memorial match between England and Ireland Legends at the Twickenham Stoop on Friday, February 26 – the night before the countries meet in the Six Nations at Twickenham.

UNDER leaden skies, Stuart Mangan, the 26-year-old rugby player from Fermoy, Co Cork, who died last week, made his final journey home yesterday to be laid to rest at Kilcrumper cemetery, one of the oldest Christian burial places in Ireland.
