CREDIT unions will provide financial services to areas from which commercial banks have departed, the new president of the Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU), Anne O’Byrne, pledged yesterday.

CALLS for the easing of restrictions to allow credit unions operate in a freer business environment are to be made at the national credit union conference this weekend.
