The Premier League have confirmed they have placed a transfer embargo on Portsmouth.

Portsmouth boss Paul Hart is keen to meet with the club’s new owner Ali Al-Faraj soon, but admits he is not concerned about how the Arab businessman finances the club.

Saudi businessman Ali Al-Faraj has completed his takeover of Portsmouth, the club confirmed tonight.

Portsmouth executive chairman Peter Storrie revealed the club must “sell to keep going” with delays continuing over Sulaiman Al Fahim’s proposed takeover.

The man at the centre of the Manchester City takeover, Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim, has had an offer to buy Portsmouth accepted.
