A series of text messages, sent to friends by an accused man in a hit- and-run case, has been read out to a jury.

A jury in a fatal hit-and- run trial was yesterday shown more than three hours of CCTV footage tracking a large, grey, vehicle suspected of being involved in the incident.

Friends of a 23-year-old man suspected of being involved in a fatal hit and run told yesterday of drinking with him into the early hours, on the day of the incident.
