Bernhard Langer, Europe’s latest "Captain Fantastic", is not totally ruling out staying in charge for Ireland’s first-ever staging of the Ryder Cup in two years’ time.

The man mainly responsible for bringing the Ryder Cup to Wales for the first time has issued a timely reminder that while the match may be nine years away, there is not a moment to waste.

The Ryder Cup has been postponed until next year following the terrorist atrocities in the United States.
