An ecstasy-style drug linked to 37 deaths in Ireland and Britain should be banned across the EU, the European Commission said today.

THE EU wants to ban BZP, the synthetic drug that is up to 20 times more powerful than speed and associated with deaths worldwide.

IT is disturbing to note that the number of people seeking treatment for cocaine and cannabis use has risen in Ireland.
