79 out of 82 of Ryanair's direct employee pilots based in Dublin have voted for industrial action in a row over collective bargaining and negotiating rights.

Michael O’Leary has insisted his employees have the best job security in Europe, as well as a “sophisticated” collective bargaining process.

Ryanair’s pilot uprising shows little signs of abating, with an ad-hoc group demanding that a wage increase turned down by crews at London’s Stansted Airport be doubled and extended across the airline’s European bases.

A Dublin-based Ryanair pilot has “reluctantly” stepped forward and written an open letter to Michael O’Leary publicly criticised the stance it has taken on negotiating with the airline pilots collectively.
