A notorious Limerick killer, has awoken from a coma after he was found last Thursday "unresponsive" in his cell at Mountjoy Prison, following a suspected drugs overdose.

The suspect, aged 34, is being held at Henry Street Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Pharmaceutical services company Icon has agreed to acquire the clinical trials division of US group Cross Country Healthcare for an initial cash consideration of $52m (€38.3m).
