Two HSE officials directly involved in the Grace foster abuse scandal were promoted to senior roles to protect vulnerable adults at risk of abuse two years after the damning Conal Devine report was completed.

Five senior HSE officials and six more Tusla employees directly involved in the Grace foster abuse scandal are set to be the subject of disciplinary investigations which could potentially result in their sackings.

The head of the HSE will next week appear before the Public Accounts Committee to answer questions about alleged abuse of children with disabilities at a foster home in the South East.
