ALMOST 300 job losses were announced in the home improvement and drug manufacturing industries yesterday.

GE MONEY has announced it is axing 80 of its 400 employees following what it described as a significant review of its Irish operation.

Some 300 jobs were lost today as two companies cut their workforce.
