Management of a home for intellectually disabled people where everyone used one resident’s private property, including a TV, three-piece suite and garden furniture, have been heavily criticised for not providing such basic items themselves.

A charity for people with intellectual disabilities told the HSE its chief executive is contractually entitled to keep his €11,829 car allowance while, at the same time, he wrote to services’ users about the impact of budget cuts.
