CHILDREN in run-down schools will face the same problem in college unless Government investment at third level is dramatically improved, the head of the institutes of technology sector said yesterday.

THE Government is coming under pressure to extend Seanad election votes to graduates of the country’s institutes of technology and the two excluded universities.

STUDENTS entering college must be made better aware in advance of what courses involve to prevent them dropping out early, according to the author of a major report on third level education.
