Conroy Gold and Natural Resources is likely to finally apply next year for planning permission for the establishment of the Republic’s first commercial gold mine.

A potential 15m to 20m ounces of gold reserves exist along the border corridor linking counties Longford and Down, according to mineral exploration firm Conroy Gold and Natural Resources.

MINING company, Conroy Diamonds & Gold has raised a further €300,000 from outside investors, taking to €564,000 the total amount it has raised in this manner in the last week.

CONROY Diamonds & Gold – the Irish gold and precious metals exploration company – has confirmed the significant existence of gold at its newest resource at Clay Lake in Co Armagh.
