Irish-based aircraft leasing company Avolon is in talks with China’s AVIC Capital Company over the possible sale of the business, the Chinese company said in a statement to the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Awas, the aircraft leasing company owned by British private equity firm Terra Firma, is working on a break-up that could value the Dublin-based lessor at roughly $13bn (€9.7bn).

Irish Aircraft lessor Avolon is preparing for an initial public offering this year, according to sources.
