A Fine Gael and a Labour councillor yesterday broke ranks by opposing a motion calling for support for gay marriage at a meeting of Kerry County Council.

The councillor who made international news by calling for a relaxing of the drink driving laws for rural people is to oppose a motion supporting gay marriage.
