The Government tonight rejected new claims of a deal with Real IRA terrorists responsible for the Omagh outrage in a bid for a ceasefire by the paramilitary group.

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern faced new pressure today over allegations of contacts with the Real IRA soon after the terror group’s bombing of Omagh, County Tyrone, in 1998.
