Opposition radio and television stations in Honduras were back on the air after the government lifted a three-week broadcast ban.

Honduras' interim leaders put in place new rules that threaten broadcasters with closure for airing reports that "attack national security", further restricting media freedom following the closure of two opposition stations.

The interim Honduran government revoked an emergency decree that prohibited large street protests and limited other civil liberties following the return of ousted President Manuel Zelaya.
