Supports for cancer patients in Cork look set to improve after planning permission was granted for a care centre near one of the city’s busiest hospitals.

There has been a 73% increase in Irish people seeking genetic tests after a family member is diagnosed with cancer, according to the National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP).

People have started digging in after the first publicly developed allotment scheme in Cork was officially opened at the weekend.
