A grandmother who scaled the gates of Buckingham Palace today is a veteran peace campaigner who has repeatedly trespassed on military bases.

A lone protester has been joined by six other peace campaigners at one of Britain's most secret spy bases.

Protesters were today gathering at Menwith Hill to register their opposition to President Bush’s decision to press ahead with the system.
