A powerful mobster from the Camorra crime syndicate in southern Italy has been arrested, Italian police said today.

ITALY’S anti-Mafia police unit has seized a crocodile used by an alleged Naples mob boss to intimidate local businessmen from whom he demanded protection money.

Police are searching for the killer of a candidate in local elections in the southern Italian town of Pompeii after his headless body was found two days after he disappeared on his way to work.

Scores of police combed Naples today for gunmen who fatally shot a girl in the head during a mob turf war as Neapolitans angrily denounced the grip held on their city by the Camorra crime syndicate.
