Police raided a criminal hideout and freed a British citizen taken hostage, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry said today.

THE Criminal Assets Bureau played a key role in the training of their Bulgarian counterpart body, the Financial Intelligence Agency, it was confirmed yesterday.

SPECIALIST garda officers are to fly out to Bulgaria to examine bank accounts held by an Irish businessman arrested last week as part of the investigation into suspected IRA money laundering.
